Dididididididididi

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Um, okay. I am going to go on a Didi suggestion binge here. She gave us yesterday’s goody (as well as many others), and since she has a lot of good ideas to get through before I give myself a break from the website, I’m giving you another! Home goods for her Brooklyn apartment…

C2B Couch/Daybed – It’s expensive, but hip and the fact that you can make it into like a double person bed is hella cool for the spacially challenged, like me. – Didi

Kleen Kanteen

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

The Kleen Kanteen is one of my faves for sure. Mine goes with me everywhere (filled with iced tea at the moment). It is the most up-to-date alternative to those old plastic Nalgenes we aren’t supposed to be using any more, and I must say, it is a ton better. Why didn’t we go with stainless steel to begin with? It just tastes so refreshingly clean without having to worry about nasty chemicals infiltrating out bodies. I definitely recommend the wide mouth, and get at least the 40 oz. size. Everyone should be carrying these with them everywhere.

Glee Girls

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

So I sent out a message to Gleegarden subscribers yesterday letting them know that I am going to have a crazy next few weeks of reader suggestions for all my posts. Why? Because I am feeling a bit over-burdened with my busy life and I felt it was taking its toll on the quality level here on the website. So after I am done posting favorites that have been submitted to me by all my friends and readers, I am taking a break. For a yet-to-be-determined amount of time.

Thank you sooooo much to my loyal readers. Your support and comments have kept me plugging through day after day. And the content ideas you all have shared have been my favorite part by far. Since I still have a cache of these saved up, it is time to start the extravaganza.

Today I have a submission sent to me from Beth in Denver. She has been a great Gleegarden fan, and I am really down with her plan to stay cozy in the Rocky Mountain winter.

Rosette Quilt from Anthropologie – I just bought this bedspread last weekend and I totally love it! It’s soft, warm and totally girly without being overly so. I paired it with a persimmon colored throw and shams, and cream colored sheets. I want to lay in bed all day! – Beth

Satisfying sleep

I am a sucker for nice bedding. John Robshaw textiles are so very nice. I want each and every one of these sheet sets

Rain or Shine

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

‘Tis the time of year for inclimate weather. I have been managing a cute little boutique for the last month and a half and we have just plowed through umbrellas. As I head off to Atlanta today for a buying trip, I am going to have my eyes peeled for some cute little numbers such as this one from Marimekko.

I love a cute umbrella to keep the rain off my head when it is wet and keep the sun off me when I am warm.

Now I bid you farewell for the week as I head off on my first trip to the South. Hopefully I will come back with an arsenal of new and wonderful gleegarden-worthy goods. Ado!

Gimme gimme

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

I’ve had my eye on this little diddy for awhile. It is just a perfect little tray table to throw in various locations through the house…by the bathtub to hold reading material, candles and soaps; tucked into a corner with a chair, next to one’s bed. Not only is it affordable (yes, I would like MORE than 1), but it’s need simple design is timeless.

Get Felt Up

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Why do I love these felt rocks? They could be a nice addition to one’s decor. They also bare a striking resemblance to the tucked up Flip and Tumble bags below.

At any rate, aren’t they darling?

flask

I love the looks of this flask. It just looks like business. Like it will be there for you to help in dealing with holiday crowds at the mall, or make that school holiday recital just a little more exciting. Looks like a good gift that most people will appreciate.

Still shopping?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Since I am taking off for the long trek to Wyoming tomorrow, I may or may not post. So today you get two wishlist goodies for inspiration (once again from a loyal reader). If you are like a lot of people, that shopping is not quite done (did you even start?!).

Without further ado…

prep

Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld looks like a good little easy read to throw in the mix. I am always down for a new book suggestion.

surge

Help to protect your electronics with a surge protector. This one has individual on/off switches for each plug. Just remember, though, they don’t FULLY protect your expensive computer and television. You need a UPS battery back-up for that (I’ve been trained well with this crazy Virgin Islands power and a boyfriend who gets a slew of computers to fix after each outage).

Train your brain

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

I just drew the November winner for the gleegarden giveaway! No fear to those who did not win, you are automatically submitted in next month’s drawing.

The winner is………Megan! And here is one of the sweet items from her wishlist, Big Brain Academy for the Wii. I am personally a sucker for these kind of games, plus I need to get my brain in gear because it took me way too long to figure out my age yesterday. I just couldn’t seem to believe the years, but my math told me over and over again what I needed to know. A little brain training could do everyone a favor. Plus it is fun!
