mandorloShe’s baaaack. Megan! (see her previously here)

Of all my lovely friends who have helped me out with their lists of must-haves, Megan’s is the one that really inspires me to get out and get shopping. She really does just have the best products!

This week…she talks scents.

-Right now I’m obsessed with a few things, especially perfumes from Blue Mediterraneo.  The scents are light and yummy.  I get lots of “mmmm, you smell good!” when I wear Mandorlo Di Sicilia (almond).  I also wear their Fico Di Amalfi (fig), which is perfectly non-offensive for the office. - Megan

Cannot wait to give these scents a smell! Thanks again, Megan.

soap

Okay, here is one of my personal faves that will always and forever have a place in my shower – Dr. Bronner’s Almond Organic Liquid Soap. Mucho love for the super-sudsy, earth-loving, delightfully smelly soap.

It is that weird, wacked-out hippie soap you see at your local drugstore or grocery store, and it is the best soap EVER. Affordable and gets you clean, clean, clean. All this while providing the most entertaining shower reading material I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I always now and forever will have a bottle on hand…almond, orange, lavender, or whatever other type.

A little goes a long way, and another bonus…the same soap is gentle but cleansing enough for your body, hair, and face if so needed.

I finally broke down and bought it after years of wondering what that weird bottle with all the writing all over it was about. So happy I did. Not only is it organic, but it is packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottle.

Get it!

Tiffany Pure

I went years without paying much attention to my perfume. There are so many fragrances (lotions, shampoo, deodorant, and so on) in our everyday lives that I thought “Why add another?”

While scratching and clawing my way through the work world in high end jewelry sales, I came across Pure Tiffany. Such a lovely feminine scent described by Tiffany & Co. as being a combination of “fresh cut magnolia, exotic jasmine, water lily, may blossom and tuberose with sensual woods.” The job is now history, but the knowledge of tantalizing products such as Pure Tiffany lives on.

Of course, Tiffany as a brand has amazing reputation, and this scent is no exception. Use it for every day or special occasions. I have smelled several of their other perfume types, and I would say this one is the most youthful.

Now I DO use perfume, and I like it. Rave reviews all around.

*Perfume tips: Spray on before clothing and jewelry, and use with reserve. My personal opinion is that if someone can smell you further than a few feet away then you have too much on.

Some colour, perhaps?

matte nails

Seriously. I have noticed that things are pretty monochromatic on this website so far. And I love colour! And colour is never more relevant than when chatting about nail polish.

I know that matte has been the rage lately, and I am really loving the looks of it. Here is a gorgeous shot (from July’s Marie Claire magazine) of OPI Matte Nail Lacquer in Russian Navy. Now that is hip! Very hip. And colourful!

*Note: Do not wear with base coat or top coat.
